Flags in the afternoon sun and wind, West Holt’s Stage, Glasto, by Peter Brown

Come gather together. Enter this floating city of canvas

beneath flags dyed with passion, hearts fluttering;

homes from home lift in the heat haze.

Feel these gossamer brushstrokes, conducted beneath lavender skies.

Every one as evocative as gently strummed strings.

Feast on a harvest of harmonies.  Lay down

your cares at music’s altar. Let love anoint

the finest parts of you, settle in to every pore.

Revel in the shared space- picture yourself there,

Invited by Peter Brown’s eyes.

Glide between these bright, flagged buoys of belief.

Drift towards whichever sense beckons.

Flow, as my eyes rove, waltzed repoussoir

by Brown’s fierce impressions rendered here:

Captured timelessly, sealed by the golden dust of this Glastonbury earth.

Be pilgrims of pleasure: your shadow thrown, like caution to the wind.

Or else rooted, facing the objects of your devotion,

embraced by other devotees. Make a sundial of your smiling self,

reflecting other’s joys in eye or lens.

Lean back in to the sun’s kind embrace.
